3G Americas Terminal Recommendations

August 15, 2002

This document defines a common set of terminal needs for GSM devices in the Americas as developed collaboratively by the vendor and operator companies who are members of 3G Americas.

Common terminal needs are expected to:

• Ensure a common experience in an "Americas" and potentially global roaming framework
• Provide a voice to the vendor community on operator requirements
• Drive common RF base-band development platforms, thereby reducing costs
• Provide a voice from the vendor community on product capabilities for the Western Hemisphere

3G Americas Board of Governors members are:

AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless LLC, Ericsson, Hewlett Packard, Lucent Technologies, Motorola, Nokia, Nortel Networks, Openwave Systems, Rogers Wireless, Siemens, and Telecom Personal of Argentina.
